Stella By Starlight
Song by Keith Jarrett
Lyrics
The song a robin sings
Through years of endless springs
The murmur of a brook at eventide
That ripples by a nook where two lovers hide
A great symphonic theme
That’s Stella by Starlight and not a dream
My heart and I agree
She’s everything on earth to me
A great symphonic theme
That’s Stella by Starlight and not a dream
My heart and I agree
She’s everything on earth to me

Victor YoungVictor Young wrote “Stella by Starlight“ in 1944 as the theme for the popular film “The Uninvited.” Originally an instrumental, the song became the focal point of the film’s ghost story when Ray Milland’s character played it for Stella while gazing out the window at her.

The European Jazz Trio, comprising Marc van Roon on Piano, Frans van der Hoeven on bass and Roy Dackus on drums has been recording and performing since 1995, when it released a CD of Beatles’ songs in fresh arrangements.
