Airline advertisers spent more than $422mm in 2022, representing a 138% YoY increase from 2021. The biggest jump came in Q1 when airline advertisers boosted their budgets by more than 200% as travel restrictions began to fade.Feb 6, 2023.

An airline marketing strategy is an overall business plan that aims to reach prospective consumers and turn them into customers of the services as well as keep existing customers engaged. When systematically planned, the strategy covers the four P’s of marketing – product, price, place, and promotion.

The term “marketing mix” is a foundation model for businesses, historically centered around product, price, place, and promotion. The marketing mix has been defined as the “set of marketing tools that the firm uses to pursue its marketing objectives in the target market”.

The 7 p’s of the marketing mix

Once you’ve developed your marketing strategy, there is a “Seven P Formula” you should use to continually evaluate and reevaluate your business activities. These seven are: product, price, promotion, place, packaging, positioning and people.
